me, myself and ply

Hello, I am Riku from Finland and I believe I can ply. I’m a second year Master student at the Royal College of Art in Design Products. Before my MA, I studied furniture design and I am also a cabinet maker, so for me, it feels natural to work with wood. The idea of the frame came to me when I was milling plywood at the workshop. I started exploring the tensions of the grooved plywood and wondering how to use it for hanging posters.

I believe I can ply  is a picture frame that works as a clip for attaching pictures, posters, papers and notes. The frame can be used as a drawing board as well. Tension between the grooved plywood and the wooden dowel holds the picture or notes in place. Changing the picture is easy, by rolling the dowel smoothly up and down.

how am I going to use the money

For materials, the production run, and the packaging materials. 

I am really exited about the project. The goal for me is to develop a bigger product family with different sizes of frames.
