ALPHABET - play & build with letters.

 ALPHABET is a set of 58 wooden letters you and your kids, can connect at your own pleasure, to build and create words and fun constallations, while enjoying the resulting graphic, sculptural forms. The Alphabet comes in a handmade wooden box with ALPHABET  written in English ( ALPHABET), in Danish ( ALFABET) or in the language you choose. 

 You may use ALPHABET for a decorative sculpture at home, a creative alternative to replace the little paper note you leave for your loved ones before you walk out the door….

 For children, the ALPHABET is an educational and fun way to learn the magical universe and endless combinations of all the letters in the alphabet. It works equally well for the child who loves spelling as it does for the child who enjoys building. 

 ALPHABET's physical building blocks motivates children to get tactile, play around and use their imagination.

 Slow toys are loved for their quality and enchantment, their art and imagination. They inspire children to dream, they bring a sense of familiarity and contentment to their lives and they gently nudge all of us to value the time and skill dedicated to producing beautiful things.  

Slow toys help children and adults to appreciate toys that are crafted by someone – a person, not a machine. They support artisans who draw on traditional values and mastery skills and, if the toy’s origin or story is shared with them, children have an opportunity to appreciate and learn about traditions that are quickly disappearing as the demand for mass production increases. 

 Finally, slow toys last. They can be handed down for generations. Like rituals in our lives such as Christmas or other family traditions, slow toys can be shared among family members to remind them of what’s important to them. To stimulate fond memories, conversation, family histories and a warm sense of connection.

U S  A N D  O U R  D E S I G N  M I S S I O N

Stories in Structures is a Danish based architecture and design studio. It is founded by MAA Architect Eva Wandel and Designer Rikke Nogel. Together with Madan Oli, our production manager, our mission is to create stories in structures through a design where sustainability and beauty meets. We design and produce all our products at our studio and work place situated in the heart of Copenhagen. 

For us, it is important to be a part of the whole proces, from the design stage to the final product. In this way we can ensure a sustainable workflow, high quality craftmanship, and there are no co2 cost in shipping back and forth. 

Keeping the production in our own hands, instead of industrialising it by sending it to a country, where all production cost are much lower, fits to our philosophy of slow meaningfull design. We believe design should be slower – meaning not industrialised and more hands-on. This will mean that less is made, but it will have higher intrinsic value. We believe this approach will create better quality, less waste and it promotes greater cultural diversity and resilience.

The environmental issues the world is facing is real. It’s important that everyone does what they can to reduce waste and think wisely about their purchases. These elements are key to our process, - we create our products to last and hope that they will be passed down generations to come. We believe that good design should last for a lifetime.

IF WE GET FUNDED ON KICKSTARTER

We will be so greatful if we get funded on kickstarter. We will be able to buy better machinery to continue doing what we do best – design and produce products, that carry stories in their structures.

We started our Studio a year ago, with a very small budget, but even though our place is small and our machinery is limited we have managed to get the best out of it and every day at work, we are greatful that we have come this far. We hope we can continue our design process and with the funding from kickstarter campaigns we will keep on discovering and push ideas about sustainable design, combined with stories in structures and good craftmanship, further.
