MIND KIT is the fastest, easiest way to get started with robotics. We provide you with a robotics-optimized single-board computer, a software system built entirely for programming robots (MIND OS), all the robots accessories you could dream up and a community forum with tutorials, help and like-minded robot lovers. With MIND KIT, we give you all the tools to build your own robot.  

Vincross is the company that’s behind MIND KIT. We believe that robots are the next big platform and we’ve created an ecosystem, including the software and hardware, to help accelerate this reality. Vincross launched HEXA, a 6-legged programmable robot, last year on Kickstarter, delivering on-time a high-quality product to happy fans. The company is backed by GGV Capital, Lenovo and ZhenFund, and has won various awards including Wired Gear of the Year, IEEE Spectrum Robot Gift of the Year and IF Design Award.    

Build More Robots

At some point, everyone has had a cool idea for the robot that they want to build. With MIND KIT we give you all the tools you need to create the robot of your imagination. MIND Kit is entirely modular, meaning the different robot tanks, computer boards, rovers, sensors and battery easily fit together for easy customization. All that’s missing is your good idea. 

What Will You Create?

Unlike other developer kits, MIND KIT is purpose-built for robotics. That means we give you everything you need to build a robot right out the gate. All you need is a bit of imagination. 

We thought it would be fun to create a robot that would sit on your kitchen table and respond to voice controls for things like 'Pass the salt and pepper.' Using MIND KIT, we were able to easily achieve this vision. 

Robotics don't need to be scary: make a companion robot. So he was inspired by the idea of a robot that keeps hugging you and won't leave you alone. 


Go outside! Our team at Vincross needed a break from long hours in the office building MIND KIT. So we built a kite-flying robot to take outside. This robot makes use of the tank base and a kite rod with servomotors.  

In June 2018 we visited Maker Faire Tokyo and brought a version of MIND KIT playing soccer. It was great to see the crowd's enthusiasm for MIND KIT on the soccer field and to see them trying to control the robots on their own.


What's Included: All You Need to Robot    

Cerebrum, Servo Controller and Robot Battery are the core modules of MIND KIT, and then you can easily stack different modules on top of each other. All the modules easily click together with the closing of the robot 'arms'. We've also added MIND KIT Ports into the different modules. 

Robotics-optimized single-board computer where you control the robots' sensing, thinking, decision-making and language processing. Powerful ARM Cortex-A53 Quad-Core 1.2GHz for strong computing power and 2GB DDR3 RAM. Includes comprehensive interfaces and ports, including 54 programmable pins and USB-C accessories, for easy customization and creativity. Less wiring and configuration, more seamless plug & play creation.

Robotics-optimized single board computer where you control and create your robots' movements. Even the most powerful CPUs aren't designed for controlling motion components, that's why other developer kits require you to pair with different kits to control servos. MIND KIT includes a servo controller, which can supply power and send signals to up to 20 servos simultaneously. This is important when you're building a robot that has multiple moving parts.

MIND KIT comes with a battery so you don't need to worry about power supply. The high capacity Lithium-ion battery with high discharge current of 40A max allows you to run various servomotors and robot functionalities without having to add special batteries. 


The Body Shop

We've developed the following plug & play add-on bases and modules for you to easily kit-out your robot creation: 

The LiDAR module is a 2D laser scanning sensor designed for use with SLAM algorithms that enables a robot to map and navigate autonomously. The sensor boasts a 360° field of view, 14400 points per second and a resolution of <1 mm. Plug and play with MIND KIT port.

Mic Array module has a voice recognition chip, six microphones array and a speaker. It's ideal for building AI and voice applications including smart speakers, voice interacting robot and car voice assistant. Plug and play with MIND KIT port.

As the names suggest, these sensors are designed for measuring distance and intensity of infrared light. Plug and play with USB type-C.

Highly durable, metal gear servomotor with a torque of 10kg·cm. Plug and play with servo port of the Servo Controller.

Rover Base runs on two wheels, designed for building a standard robot rover in no time.  It's heavy duty, capable of fast speeds and provides a MIND Kit port for stacking modules onto it.

 Soccer Base is a modification of Rover Base. It has additional sensors and an ejection device, designed for playing a game of robot soccer. It provides a MIND KIT port for stacking modules onto it, so that you can create your own soccer tactics.

Tank Base runs on tank treads, designed for building a standard robot tank in no time. It is super heavy duty with a high payload capacity, and provides two MIND KIT port for stacking extra modules onto it.

MIND OS 2.0 : Robotics-optimized Operating System

Use our MIND Operating System (MIND OS) to create robot functionality. MIND OS is based on Linux kernel and is purpose-built for coding and programming robotics. With MIND OS, we’ve made it simple to create complex robotic applications and remote IoT applications. 

MIND OS powers your robot creations. For example, with the built-in SLAM algorithm and MIND KIT's Rover base + LiDAR module, you could easily build an indoor navigation experiment with MIND KIT drawing a map of the environment. You can focus on what you want to do directly, instead of spending three weeks building a rover with PVC and wires.

MIND OS can also be integrated with OpenCV, ROS and other AI libraries. Developers can take full advantage of the built-in libraries, third party libraries and the hardware resources to seamlessly build AI & robotics applications. 

MIND OS comes with SDK and IDE. The SDK provides high level APIs so you can focus on what you want to build. The IDE (MIND Studio) is a complete environment where you code, pack and test your robot program. We provide comprehensive tutorials and sample applications.

MIND OS is also a robotics ecosystem including Skills Store, where you can share your creatives and test out the Skills with your fellow robot-enthusiasts and other MIND OS users.

Risks and challenges

We launched our first product HEXA in 2017, selling and shipping right on schedule. We are now confident that we have done everything possible to minimize risks and challenges to Vincross' Kickstarter backers.

Vincross' MIND KIT are complete. We’re currently ramping up at our factory and are ready to meet the estimated delivery times. We do not expect any changes to shipment, product or availability. With our previous comprehensive product and production testing, we are confident to deliver our backers a low-risk, high-quality product on time.
